Online Dating Websites: Is Cable Dating Service the New Wave for Finding Dates?

Cable television provider Comcast offers a service called Dating on Demand. Users set up very brief video profiles which are then accessible through the cable service. Bored? Check out profiles while kicked back on the couch with a bowl of popcorn and, as David Letterman would say, ‘a tasty beverage.’

Some online dating websites already offer video capabilities, so it got me wondering if video profiles for dating on television were the wave of the future or just a flash in the pan.

As one who despises being photographed and filmed, I would be hesitant to try such a service because I would be nervous and probably come off looking far more dorky than I am. After watching a few profiles that were posted on YouTube, I must say, I think it would be difficult for many to not look more dorky than they actually are – but that is just this blogger’s opinion. Yours may vary.
